Walthamstow School for Girls Visit the WSFG site

Background

The purpose of this project was to give pupils the skills required to develop and maintain the school web site. Walthamstow used NetActiv8 to run after-school web design workshops aimed particularly at the school's most able pupils.

Outcomes

The school now has an extensive web site which includes areas for pupils, parents and a wealth of information about the curriculum and how the school runs.

The site was built using a combination of Dreamweaver®, Fireworks® and Photoshop®. The site also uses Active Server Pages to provide site search and policy search facilities. The workshops have now developed into a project for pupils to develop their own sites while learning how to animate using Macromedia Flash®.
